Whatever the next crisis ...
and there is sure to be one ... the folks in the last column here will be at
the indicated stages of their lives when it happens (if the cycles hold
up). Most of my own generation will have silently
shuffled off this mortal coil. The Boomers will
be elder ... (hopefully as statesmen and women), although I admit this is
not the usual prediction. The X Generation will
be in the shank of their adulthood lives, probably in key positions of
military command, government, media, religion, and industry. They are
used to disappointment and making do. They are pragmatic, but they will
be quite irritated at the legacy fobbed their way by Boomers. The Millennials will take the reins in turn and carry out
the national will. They will forge the political framework for the ensuing
century. The "Cybers," as I have taken the liberty
to name them, will be greatly affected by whatever happens. They will have
to "adapt" to a world gone round some corner on two wheels. If the Cyber generation runs true to form, it will incorporate something of the Enlightenment, Compromise, Progressive, and Silent Generations.
